Well, I warned you guys I was gonna do more video posts, so here ya go! This is a little clip (ha, not so little) in which I rant a bit about why I don’t think pickup artists really help people connect in satisfying, lasting relationships. It’s one thing to get women to go home with you; it’s entirely another to meet women you eventually fall mutually in love with, ya know? I just don’t think strutting your stuff is the answer.
Let me know your thoughts!

I like how you point out that we women know about these PUA techniques. Nothing makes me run faster in the other direction than a dude who tries negging. If someone is willing to make me feel bad about myself on the off chance it will help him get lucky, then that’s not somebody I want to know. In any sense.
My friend @askvirginia discusses an obvy thing most PUAs don’t seem to realize: we ladies know about your tricks: http://t.co/0wR0mLjglt
@cynixy @askvirginia In general I assume ladies know all tricks, so that I will avoid attempting to use tricks in the first place.
Remember the reality show about 6 or 7 years ago? It was revolting.
@benspants @askvirginia Smart. Esp. negging. Any guy who tries making me feel like dirt so he can get lucky isn’t someone I want to know.
Fully agree. It’s very objectifying and juvenile and just smarmy. But even subtler-seeming pickup artistry bravado still seems forced to me!
